The AGS EC-2200 is a 12V, 185Ah flooded tall-tubular deep-cycle battery — the volume SKU in Atlas Battery's Energy Core solar/UPS line. As of 2 August 2026 it costs Rs 49,085 at Atlas Battery's own e-store list price, with live retail listings from Rs 48,500 (BatteryMAX) to Rs 54,580 (W11Stop, updated that day).

That 12% spread is the quiet headline: because Atlas publishes an official list price online — almost unique in Pakistan's tubular market — AGS retail quotes cluster tightly around it, where rival brands with no public list swing 60% on the same SKU on the same day.

Specs above are from Atlas Battery's official EC-2200 page (2 August 2026) — where a retailer listing disagreed (one quotes 530mm length and 55kg), we used the manufacturer's figures. The 1250-cycle rating appears on retailer pages only; Atlas's own spec table publishes no cycle-life figure.

Honest assessment

Pros. The known-quantity tubular: made in Karachi since 1969 under a GS Yuasa (Japan Storage Battery) technical collaboration by a PSX-listed company, with an official dealer network page naming around 250 dealers across 160+ cities — so warranty claims chase a listed dealer, not a vanished shopkeeper. The published list price makes it the hardest tubular in Pakistan to overpay for. Official spec transparency (5-hour and 20-hour ratings both published) is better than any local rival we checked.

Cons. You pay for the badge: on 2 August 2026 a Phoenix TX-1800 — same 185Ah, 5-plates-per-cell class — started at Rs 37,000 street, roughly Rs 12,000 under the AGS list price, and Osaka's HT-1800 ProMax sat at Rs 39,500. The cycle rating is the market's usual 1250 @ 80% DoD, not better than the cheaper rivals' published numbers. And Atlas publishes no official tubular warranty terms or datasheet PDF online — for a company this documented, the warranty fine print living only on the dealer's stamped card is a gap.

Who should buy. Buyers who value a traceable manufacturer, a published fair price, and a dealer network that will still exist in month eleven of the warranty — and will pay a 20-25% premium over street-price rivals for it. Pure price-per-Ah shoppers should read the Phoenix and Osaka pages first.

Pakistan reality check

The list price is your negotiating anchor. Rs 49,085 on abl.atlas.pk (2 August 2026) is what Atlas itself charges with home delivery. Any dealer quote meaningfully above that needs a reason (installation? old-battery disposal? cables?); quotes below it — BatteryMAX's Rs 48,500 — are real but small discounts. Ask whether the quote assumes handing over your old battery: scrap lead has real value and Pakistani battery shops routinely price the exchange in without saying so.

Cycle life at real depth of discharge. 1250 cycles at 80% DoD is a lab-condition retailer rating. Owner reports on PakWheels put well-maintained AGS batteries at about 3 years, with the spread running 1-4 years depending on inverter cutoff, water discipline, and heat — a battery corner at 40C+ through a Punjab summer ages plates faster than any rating assumes. Set the inverter's low-voltage cutoff conservatively and size the bank so daily outages do not flatten it; background in our DoD and heat guide.

Water is the warranty. Flooded and unsealed: distilled-water checks every two to four weeks in summer. Dry-out is the classic claim-rejection story across the flooded market, and retailer warranty text ties replacement to maintained levels. If nobody will do the top-ups, buy sealed or lithium instead.

Do not confuse it with AGS flat-plate batteries. AGS also sells truck, car, and SP-Tall batteries that end up on UPS duty. As a 2024 PakWheels thread notes, AGS itself markets only the tall-tubular line as deep-cycle — a cheaper AGS flat-plate will die in a year of daily cycling and is not this product.

AGS is the price ceiling of the 185Ah class — the premium buys manufacturer traceability and price transparency, not more cycles. The lifetime math: at list price, 1250 cycles × 1.78kWh ≈ 2,220kWh of rated throughput, roughly Rs 22 per delivered kWh — before charging losses, if the full rating is achieved.
