Things we found while verifying prices that a buyer would not find on their own: panels sold without the paperwork that makes the warranty claimable, listings where the label does not match the product, warranty terms that change depending on which site you read, and one website we would not send a payment through.

Each entry says what we observed and on what date. We describe what was in front of us and stop there — we do not allege intent, and we do not call anyone a fraud. Some of these entries are about mistakes we made ourselves.

  Road Prince’s official domain was redirecting to a phishing-style page on an unrelated host

  What we observed

  On 2 August 2026, while checking whether Road Prince makes an electric rickshaw, we requested roadprince.com.pk. Both the homepage and the loaders category page returned an HTTP 301 redirect to the same unrelated address — a bare cPanel host whose name imitates a Netflix account-verification dashboard. We did not follow the redirect and did not load the destination. No Road Prince content was served to us at any point.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  This is the company’s own domain, and it is the address a buyer types after seeing a showroom banner or a Facebook post. A domain under someone else’s control can be pointed at a page that asks for card details, CNIC or a bank transfer, and it will still carry the brand’s name in the address bar. It also has a quieter consequence for us: with the manufacturer’s site unreachable, there is no authoritative price list or spec sheet to check third-party listings against, which is why our Road Prince pages publish no price at all.

  What to do

  Do not type roadprince.com.pk into a browser, and treat any link claiming to be Road Prince’s site with suspicion until the redirect is visibly gone. Confirm prices and payment instructions by phone with a dealer or in person. Our observation is dated 2 August 2026 and may no longer hold — re-check before relying on it either way.

  Jolta’s official website was serving injected casino spam while its financing flow asked for bank pay-orders

  What we observed

  On 26 July 2026, while fetching joltaelectric.com to verify specs and prices, we found injected casino and betting content — references to “Pin-Up casino”, “1win”, “Plinko” and aviator games — embedded in the page structure and footer of at least two product pages, the Neo and the JE-100L Thunder. The finding was reproduced on a second fetch the same day. The underlying product data on those pages read as intact, and we used it as a source on that basis.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  Content of this kind appearing on a company’s own site is a common symptom of a compromised website, not something a manufacturer would publish. We are not suggesting Jolta placed it there. It matters because of what else that site is used for: Jolta’s own Facebook post of 11 December 2025 announced delivery of its first bike under the federal PAVE scheme with an Rs 80,000 cashback tied to a bank pay-order route, and the financing flow asks buyers to send pay-order confirmation through the site. A site an attacker can inject content into is not a site to take payment instructions from.

  What to do

  Confirm prices, bank account details and payment instructions by phone with the showroom or in person before sending any pay order — not through the website. Re-check the site’s status yourself before relying on it; our observation is dated and may no longer hold.

  JA Solar panels listed at Rs 29–31/W against Rs 39–42.5/W for documented stock

  What we observed

  On 25 July 2026 two Pakistani price sources listed JA Solar n-type panels at roughly Rs 29–31 per watt, described on those pages as non-documented stock. Across three other Pakistani price trackers checked the same day, documented JA Solar DeepBlue 4.0 n-type stock ran Rs 39–42.5 per watt. That is a gap of roughly a quarter of the price on what is presented as the same panel.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  Non-documented stock arrives without the paperwork that makes a manufacturer warranty claimable. On a 585W panel that gap is roughly Rs 5,000–8,000 up front; the performance warranty you are giving up runs 25 to 30 years depending on whose terms you read. The discount is not a bargain, it is the price of the documentation — and the panel in the crate may be identical either way, which is exactly what makes it hard to see.

  What to do

  Ask which channel the panel came through, and ask to see the documentation before paying, not after. Check the serial against the manufacturer’s own portal. If a price sits more than a few rupees per watt below every documented list on the same day, that is the question to ask.

  Retailer lists group mono-facial and bifacial panels under a single “TopCon” heading

  What we observed

  Across the Pakistani price lists surveyed for our solar-panel batch in July 2026, mono-facial and bifacial modules are repeatedly listed together under a single “TopCon” label, with one per-watt rate quoted as if it applied to both. One row we were about to use as a 585W bifacial comparator turned out to be a LONGi Hi-MO X6 590W mono-facial panel, and is now labelled as such on our page. Separately, two Pakistani sites carried the same pair of Risen models with the labels swapped between them, producing an apparent Rs 35.9/W on one site and Rs 47/W on the other for the same products.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  Bifacial and mono-facial are not the same product and do not perform the same way on a Pakistani rooftop — bifacial gain depends entirely on what is under the panel, which on most flat roofs is very little. A buyer comparing two per-watt numbers under one heading is comparing two different things, and “TopCon” on a price list tells you nothing about which one is in the crate.

  What to do

  Read the model code on the label, not the heading on the price list. Bifacial double-glass modules have a model code that says so, and the datasheet states a bifaciality figure. If a list quotes one rate for a “TopCon” block, ask which specific model that rate belongs to.

  Warranty terms differ between Pakistani retailers and the manufacturer’s own site

  What we observed

  For JA Solar DeepBlue 4.0 panels checked on 25 July 2026, Pakistani retail sources stated a 12-year product / 25-year performance warranty with an 84.8% output floor at year 25, while JA Solar’s own European site listed 12-year product / 30-year power for the newer 4.0 Pro bins. Both figures were published on the same product family at the same time.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  The difference is five years of performance cover on a purchase whose whole economic case runs 20 years or more. It may reflect a genuinely different bin being sold in Pakistan, or a retailer copying an older datasheet — the sources do not say which, and neither will we. What a buyer cannot do is assume the manufacturer’s global figure applies to the panel on the truck.

  What to do

  Get the warranty term in writing on the invoice, with the model code, before paying. Ask who honours it in Pakistan and through which office — a manufacturer term you can only claim abroad is not a warranty you have. We publish both figures on our pages rather than picking the flattering one.

  A Pakistani price site publishes Suncore panels under a “ZNShine” heading

  What we observed

  On 26 July 2026 a Pakistani daily price site published a block of three panel rows — Rs 39.50/W, Rs 41.75/W and Rs 42.75/W — under a section heading reading “ZNShine Solar Panels Latest Prices Today”. Every model string inside that block begins “Suncore”. We had ourselves carried those three rows as ZnShine prices before re-fetching the page and checking brand attribution row by row.

  Why it matters to a buyer

  ZnShine and Suncore are different manufacturers at different tiers. A reader taking that block at face value is pricing one brand against the wrong data, and any site that quotes those rows onward propagates it — as we did, until we caught it.

  What to do

  Check that the model string in a price row matches the brand in the heading above it. This one is in the ledger because we were the ones who got it wrong first — the full entry is in our own correction log.

How something gets into this ledger

The same way a price does. An entry needs a dated, logged research row behind it, fetched and excerpted, and it is written to describe an observation rather than to accuse anybody. Where the observation is about a company’s own website or documents, that company is the primary source for what its own pages said on the day we read them.
