Solar Guides for Canada by Province (September 2026)
Canada has no single solar rule. Ontario banks export credits for twelve months and pays nothing out; Alberta runs a market Solar Club rate; BC Hydro credits a fixed rate per kWh. The federal Greener Homes grant and loan are both closed. Every money guide here names its province and quotes the regulation.
The engineering is Canadian too: CEC Rule 64-218 rapid shutdown, ESA plan review above 12 kW in Ontario, snow-shedding angles, heated LiFePO4 batteries, and winter open-circuit voltage that can exceed an inverter’s limit. Sources are the regulator, the utility and the manufacturer.
