Honest assessment
Pros. 230A continuous both ways (1C) means this single pack can charge from and discharge into a 12 kW hybrid without throttling — a genuine advantage over paralleling small packs with lower combined C-rates on one comms bus. The published datasheet is complete and certified (UN38.3, CE, CB), CAN2.0 and RS485 are standard, and per nameplate kWh it is the cheapest current Inverex lithium: Rs 49,000-50,800/kWh versus Rs 54,200-55,700/kWh for the 5.12 kWh unit (2 August 2026 prices).
Cons. The warranty arithmetic is the story. The printed throughput figure is 18 MWh — barely more than the 5.12 kWh unit's 16 MWh despite 2.3 times the capacity. At 90% DoD that is roughly 1,700 full cycles, against a 6,000-cycle headline; the warranty covers under a third of the rated cycle life, by our math. Two 5.1s cost less (Rs 555,000-570,000), carry 32 MWh of combined throughput, and give 9.2 kWh usable versus 10.6. Note also the narrower charge window — 0°C minimum versus -10°C on the 5.1 (rarely relevant in Pakistan outside the northern highlands) — the undisclosed cell OEM, and an 84 kg box that needs two people and a serious wall.
Who should buy. Nitrox 8-12 kW owners who want maximum single-box current and minimum wiring, and who read warranty letters. Buyers optimizing warranted-kWh per rupee should buy two 5.1s instead.
Pakistan reality check
BMS pairing. Same ecosystem logic as the rest of the line: pre-tuned for Inverex's own Nitrox hybrids over CAN, with no published compatibility list for anyone else's inverter. Heat is the silent cost. The 6,000-cycle rating is a 25°C laboratory number. In a Punjab summer utility room the pack will live at 35-45°C for months; LiFePO4 calendar and cycle aging both accelerate with temperature (the mechanics are here). An 84 kg wall unit is also harder to relocate later than a stack of small packs — pick the coolest indoor wall the first time.
IP21 means indoors. Drip-proof, not weather-proof. Verandas, external walls and stairwells open to rain-splash are out.
Claim paperwork. The warranty defers to the "Inverex Warranty Letter" and the 18 MWh throughput figure is printed on the official spec sheet — that is the number a claims assessor can hold you to, not the cycle headline. Invoice, warranty letter, dealer registration: all three, at purchase.

How many hours of backup does 11.8 kWh give a Pakistani home?
About 10.6 kWh is usable at the recommended 90% depth of discharge. A typical load-shedding survival load of fans, lights, fridge and router (500-700W) runs 15-21 hours; add a 1.5-ton inverter AC (~1.2-1.8 kW averaged) and you get roughly 4-7 hours. Size on the 10.6, not the 11.8.
Why does the warranted throughput matter more than the 6,000-cycle claim?
The datasheet rates the pack at 6,000+ cycles but prints an 18 MWh energy-throughput figure for the warranty. 18 MWh over a 10.6 kWh usable pack is roughly 1,700 full cycles — under five years of one full cycle a day, by our arithmetic. The cycle headline and the enforceable warranty number are very different sizes on this model.
Is the 11.8 cheaper than buying two 5.12 kWh units?
No — two INV-LV-IP21 5.1s cost Rs 555,000-570,000 at 2 August 2026 prices, slightly less than one 11.8 at Rs 578,000-600,000, and together they carry 32 MWh of warranted throughput versus 18 MWh. The 11.8's case is one wall box, one cable run and 230A of continuous current from a single unit.
Does it work with inverters other than the Inverex Nitrox?
It has CAN2.0 and RS485 ports, but Inverex publishes no list of supported third-party inverter protocols. For any non-Inverex hybrid, get the exact working protocol setting confirmed in writing before purchase — BMS handshake failure is Pakistan's most common lithium retrofit problem.
