Deye SUN Hybrid F41 — Parallel System Stop
What it means: F41 is a multi-inverter code. Deye's manuals define it as "parallel system stop": in a parallel bank, if one hybrid inverter is switched off or shut down, the others report F41. The single-phase manual puts it as "if there's 1 pcs hybrid inverter is in OFF status, the other hybrid inverters may report F41 fault in parallel system"; the three-phase manual is blunter — if one inverter shuts down, all of them will report F41. The code is about the group, not about your grid.
Why does Deye show F41?
- One inverter in the parallel bank is switched off, has tripped on its own fault, or has lost power
- A parallel communication cable unseated, damaged or terminated wrongly between units
- Duplicate or wrong inverter communication address settings across the bank
- A single-inverter installation configured in software as if it were part of a parallel system
The Pakistan factor
Two things to get right locally. First, a widely circulated Pakistani code table — and one of our own older guides — describes Deye F41 as "AC line over voltage". That is wrong. Both of the Deye manuals we opened define F41 as parallel system stop, and neither assigns any F-code to grid over-voltage; the grid-voltage code in both tables is F42, described as "Grid voltage fault". If you are on a weak feeder chasing an over-voltage problem, F41 is not the code that proves it. Second, parallel banks are increasingly common in Pakistani commercial and larger domestic installs, and they are often commissioned quickly with duplicated address settings — which is why F41 here is more often a commissioning defect than a failure. Get the installer who built the bank to fix it, and get the addressing written down, because the next technician will not be able to guess it.
How to fix it
- Look along the bank and find the odd one out. Deye's own first step is to check the hybrid inverters' working status — one of them will be off, or showing its own, different code. That other code is the real fault; F41 on the rest is the consequence.
- Read and photograph the code on the unit that is down before anyone restarts anything. Once the bank is power-cycled, the original fault is gone from the screen and the diagnosis goes with it.
- Do not start pulling or reseating communication cables between live inverters. This is the point where a homeowner should hand over — a parallel bank has multiple live DC and AC sources and switching one unit off does not de-energise the others.
- Qualified installer, from here. He should check the parallel communication cabling and the per-inverter communication address settings, and bring the bank up in the order the manual specifies. F41 that appears only during start-up and clears once every unit is on is normal behaviour, not a fault.
- If your system has only one inverter and it is showing F41, the configuration is wrong. A standalone unit has no parallel bank to lose, so the parallel or address setting has been left on from a commissioning session or a copied configuration. That is an installer settings job, not a hardware fault.
- If F41 persists with every unit on, the cabling correct and the addresses unique, Deye's manual ends at "if the fault still exists, please contact us for help".
