The Fronus Infineon Reborn PV5200 is a single-phase 4.2 kW hybrid inverter on a 24 V battery bank with a 5200 W PV input ceiling - the brand's volume seller and, at the authorized dealer's price, one of the cheapest branded 4 kW-class hybrids in Pakistan. As of 2 August 2026 it sells for Rs 95,000 to Rs 152,000, verified on three live listings opened the same day: Rs 95,000 at W11Stop (in stock, stamped "updated on August 2, 2026"), Rs 120,000 at SolarPanelPrices.pk, Rs 152,000 on Daraz.
Two things to fix before you read further. 5200 is the PV input, not the output - rated output is 4200 W on Fronus's spec page and datasheet. And Fronus publishes no warranty term for this model in any document: not on the spec page, not in the 2-page datasheet PDF, not in the 36-page product manual PDF - both of which are linked from that page and both of which we downloaded and read on 2 August 2026. The technical documentation exists and is decent. The warranty is the hole.

Figures above follow Fronus's spec page and datasheet, which agree with each other and with every dealer listing. The product manual does not agree with them, and we are printing the conflict rather than hiding it. Table 2 of the manual rates "PV 5200" at 3.6 kW with a 3600 W full load, a 1200 W second load and a 6200 W PV array, and names the larger sibling "PV 6200" - a machine one step smaller than the one Fronus sells today under this model number. The manual's own back page carries Chinese print-shop instructions, which is what an unmodified OEM document looks like; treat it as authoritative for procedure, fault codes and charge behaviour, and the datasheet as authoritative for ratings. If a dealer argues a spec, bring the datasheet.
The 30 W no-load draw is worth a sentence: left on around the clock it consumes roughly 0.72 kWh a day, about 260 kWh a year. On a home slab that is real money, and it is the argument for a properly configured schedule rather than leaving the unit idling through a sunless week.
Honest assessment
Pros. At Rs 95,000 from a dealer that states it is an authorized Fronus distributor, this is close to the floor of the branded 4 kW hybrid market - Knox's 4 kW PV5600 sits at Rs 97,000 and Itel's 4 kW Pro at Rs 117,000 on the same store's shelf the same day. The electrical spec is complete and coherent: a wide 60-450 Vdc MPPT window that tolerates long strings, 100 A of AC charging for grid-topping before an outage, 8400 W of surge for motor starts, and a dual-load output with a 1386 W second circuit that lets you split essentials from the rest without a separate changeover. Seventeen published service centres with street addresses is more accountability than most units at this price offer.
Cons. The warranty is the whole problem. Fronus prints no term on the product page, in the datasheet, in the manual, or on a warranty page it does not have - so if a claim is disputed there is no manufacturer document to appeal to, only whatever your dealer wrote on the invoice. There is no installation guide for this series, and the manual that does exist describes a 3.6 kW machine rather than the 4.2 kW one the datasheet and every listing sell, so the paper trail argues with itself. The single certification printed is CE. The 24 V battery bus doubles current for a given load, which punishes undersized cable and loose terminals - the most common cause of nuisance faults on this class of unit. And price dispersion is extreme: the cheapest and dearest live listings differ by Rs 57,000, so the "cheapest branded hybrid" framing collapses if you buy from the wrong one.
Who should buy. Someone building a 3-4 kW system on a 24 V bank, mounting indoors, buying from a seller who will write the warranty term and the servicing branch on the invoice, and who has already checked all three listed prices. Anyone planning to grow past 4 kW should skip straight to the 48 V PV7200 - moving a 24 V bank to 48 V later means replacing batteries, not adding them.
Pakistan reality check
The warranty gap, on this model specifically. On 2 August 2026, fronus.com's PV5200 page listed features, a full spec table, "Certification: CE", and a Downloads block with two working links. We followed both. The 2-page datasheet and the 36-page product manual are real documents - and neither states a warranty period, nor does the product page, nor is there a warranty page anywhere on the site. The one gap in the documentation itself is an installation guide, which this series does not get (Platinum models do). Against that silence, the live Daraz listing offers three different terms on one page: "1 Year Brand Warranty" in its Return & Warranty box, "Warranty: 2 years parts and 3 years service" in the specification table inside its own description, and "backed by a 5-year warranty" in the prose immediately below. Its brand field reads "No Brand" and the seller, Vibrant Green Energy Trading Solutions, carries "not enough data" on positive ratings. Aggregators add more figures. Nothing you are told about this inverter's warranty comes from the manufacturer. Ask for the physical warranty card at purchase, photograph both sides, and have the dealer write the term, the start date and the servicing branch on the invoice.
Where the claim actually goes. Seventeen Fronus service centres are published with street addresses and mobile numbers: nine in Punjab, four in Sindh, three in KP, one in Balochistan (Quetta). None in Islamabad proper, AJK or Gilgit-Baltistan. If you are outside those cities, ask the dealer - before paying - who pays freight when a 9 kg unit has to travel, and how long the round trip takes. That question has a different answer at every shop, which is precisely why it belongs on the invoice.
The 24 V current problem. At 4200 W on a 24 V bank the DC side pulls roughly 175 A at nominal, more as the battery sags. Undersized cable, an over-torqued lug or a corroded terminal shows up as voltage sag under load, which the inverter reads as low bus voltage and reports as a fault - the single most common "the inverter is broken" call on this class of hardware in Pakistan. Insist on correctly sized copper, a proper DC breaker, and a torque check at commissioning, and photograph the installation. That photo is your evidence if a claim is ever contested on installation grounds.
Heat and dust. IP21 with a 50 C ceiling. Indoors, ventilated, clearance around the chassis, and off the roofline. The anti-dust kit Fronus advertises is a filter, not an IP rating - it still needs cleaning before every summer.
Fault codes - there is an official table, and you should have it. Section 5.8 of the published product manual lists error codes 01 to 59 with their meanings (52 bus voltage too low, 53 inverter soft start failed, 55 over DC voltage in AC output, 57 current sensor failed, 58 output voltage too low, 59 PV voltage over limitation, among others); section 5.9 covers the warning codes including E9 battery equalization and bP battery not connected; section 8 is a symptom-to-cause-to-action troubleshooting chart. Download it from the product page before you call anyone out. Fronus fault-code articles written without it - including the SolarNevs Fronus error-code page, which predates our locating this manual - should be checked against section 5.8 rather than trusted over it.

And the comparison that matters most inside the brand: at SolarPanelPrices.pk on the same day, the Fronus Platinum PV5200 costs Rs 139,000 against Rs 120,000 for this Infineon Reborn PV5200 - and Fronus's own spec page rates the Platinum at 3600 W output, not 4200 W, from the identical 5200 W PV input. What Platinum adds is a claimed 98% maximum conversion efficiency against 97%, and a narrower 90-450 Vdc MPPT window. Paying Rs 19,000 more for 600 W less rated output is a decision, not an upgrade. Check the series badge on the box - and note the caveat above: the Infineon Reborn's own product manual rates this model at 3600 W too, so if that manual is the truer document the two series are the same machine at a Rs 19,000 spread. The datasheet says otherwise. Ask the dealer to show you which figure the unit in front of you is sold on.

Is the PV5200 a 5 kW inverter?
No, and the number is a trap. 5200 is the maximum PV input in watts, not the output. Rated output is 4200 W / 4200 VA on Fronus's own spec page. It runs a 4.2 kW load ceiling from a 24 V battery bank, with a second load circuit capped at 1386 W in battery mode. If you need genuine 5 kW+ output, the model you want is the 6.2 kW PV7200 on a 48 V bank.
Why is it 24 V when everything else is 48 V?
Fronus splits the range at the 6.2 kW step: the PV5200 class runs a 24 Vdc bus, the PV7200 class runs 48 Vdc. A 24 V bank means roughly double the current for the same power, so cable gauge and terminal torque matter more, and your battery choices are narrower - Fronus's own [Titan 24V 100Ah](/batteries/fronus/titan-24v-100ah/) is 2.56 kWh against 5.12 kWh for the 48 V unit. On DC losses and future expansion, the step up to the 48 V PV7200 is usually the better money.
What warranty comes with the Fronus PV5200?

Both, and the manual explains why. The feature bullets read '80A Max PV Charging'; the specification table on the same page reads 'Maximum Charging Current 120A'. Table 4 of the published product manual settles it: the 120 A figure is labelled 'Max Charging Current (AC charger plus solar charger)' - it is the combined ceiling for both charge paths together. Size the PV side to 80 A, and remember that pushing AC charging hard eats into the same 120 A budget.
Can I mount it outdoors or in the pump room?
No. It is IP21 - indoor, dry, dust-protected only - with an operating range of -10 to 50 C. A Punjab rooftop room in June exceeds that. Beyond the hardware risk, an installation the dealer can call non-compliant is one you cannot claim on, and with no published warranty terms you have no document to argue from.
