Ziewnic Z5 Series 6.5 kVA 6G PV8500 Solar Hybrid Inverter

The Ziewnic Z5 6G PV8500 is a single-phase 6.5 kVA hybrid solar inverter built around a 48 VDC battery bank, rated at 6,500 W output with an 8,500 W maximum PV array, and sold under Ziewnic's five-year brand warranty. Pakistani retailers listed it at Rs 124,999 to Rs 145,999 (verified 2026-07-25), a 16.8% spread on the identical part number on the same day.

Honest assessment

What holds up. The headline numbers are consistent between Ziewnic's PDF and its own product page — more than the Max line manages. 8,500 W of array on a 6.5 kVA unit gives real oversizing headroom for Pakistani winter output, 180 A of solar charging is generous for a 48 V bank, and 13,000 W of surge covers a hard motor start. At the Rs 124,999 end this is a lot of nameplate per rupee.

What does not. Three things a buyer should price in:

1. The 550 V trap. The Key Salient Features panel of Ziewnic's own PDF claims a "High PV input voltage range (90-550 VDC)"; the product data table on the very next page of the same file gives maximum DC voltage 90–450 VDC and nominal/maximum DC 360/500 VDC. String to 450 V, not the marketing panel.
2. "Dual PV" is not dual MPPT. The datasheet row is explicit: two PV ports paralleled on one 32 A tracker. East-west or shaded-array splits will not be tracked independently.
3. No published battery protocol list. No CAN or RS485 closed-loop table exists anywhere on ziewnic.com, and Ziewnic's own Z-BOX battery page lists RS485, RS232 and CAN as optional ports without naming a single inverter protocol. Plan for open-loop lithium and manual voltage setpoints.

Owner feedback: there is almost none, and SolarNevs will not invent it. No Reddit, PakWheels or Quora thread specific to Ziewnic ownership could be found on 2026-07-25, and Ziewnic's official Daraz page for this exact SKU showed "No Ratings". The brand's only numerically rated owner signal is the separate ZIEWNIC storage app at 1.0 out of 5 from 4 App Store ratings — four people, about software, not this inverter.

Who should buy it. A 48 V household or small-commercial load in a city on Ziewnic's service list, comfortable with open-loop lithium settings and wanting maximum array capacity per rupee. Who should not: anyone needing independent MPPT for a split roof, a documented closed-loop BMS handshake with a specific battery brand, or service outside the 18 listed cities.

Pakistan reality check

Heat and dust. Rated -10 to 50 °C with no published IP figure — the IP21 one retailer asserts appears on no Ziewnic document, and the brand markets ingress ratings only on Roux (IP54) and Lenox (IP65). Read it as an indoor-only box: in a Multan or Jacobabad summer an unventilated stairwell can approach the top of that band, so mount in shade with airflow and clean the intake before every summer.

Grid instability. Accepts 90–280 VAC in appliance mode and 170–280 VAC in the narrower setting, covering most Pakistani brownout behaviour, with grid output tracking at 195.5–253 VAC. Under the NEPRA Prosumer Regulations of February 2026 the economics moved from net metering to net billing, so the built-in zero-export function is now a feature you may actually want enabled rather than a compliance nuisance.

Counterfeit and mislabelling risk. Targeted searches on 2026-07-25 found no counterfeit reports, recalls or brand warnings for Ziewnic — weak evidence either way, since no serial-verification portal exists. The documented risk is generation mislabelling: retailers sell 5G and 6G versions of the same PV8500 and PV6500 numbers under near-identical titles, while Ziewnic's live Z5 index contains only 6G SKUs. Check the generation badge on the unit, not the listing title.

Service and warranty. Eighteen branded centres with published street addresses and direct numbers is a genuine structural advantage over most local brands; the gaps are Balochistan, Islamabad proper, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Five years' warranty is printed on the datasheet and every retailer page checked, but what a claim actually looks like is unknown — no sourced first-hand account exists in either direction, and the one negative primary signal (a Voice Of Customer PK post titled "Don't Buy This Crap - ZIEWNIC SOLAR INVERTER AND BATTERY") had its body withheld by Facebook, so its substance cannot be characterised.

Price context

At Rs 124,999–145,999 (verified 2026-07-25) the Z5 PV8500 sits in the same Axpert-class 6 kW single-phase hybrid bracket as the Inverex Veyron II 6kW, the Fronus PV7200 and the Crown Micro Xavier II 4KW. Inverex carries roughly three times Ziewnic's brand search demand (12,100 vs 4,400 monthly searches, SEMrush Pakistan database, July 2026) and the widest dealer footprint; Ziewnic's counter-offer is 8,500 W of array capacity and a published 18-city service list. SolarNevs has not independently verified those rivals' street prices and does not borrow numbers between pages. The one comparison that can be made honestly today is internal: the 4.5 kVA Z5 PV6500 costs Rs 104,999–120,000 but runs a 24 V bank, so the step up to this 48 V unit is not just power — it is a different battery architecture and a different battery bill.
