Given that three different battery specs circulate under the Sharp name, the warranty is only as good as the pack you actually receive - get the chemistry, the voltage, the amp-hours, the term, the kilometre cap and the honouring workshop written on the invoice.

The United Electric Sharp Pro is a 1000W step-through electric scooter, and as of 2 August 2026 the lithium version sells for Rs 318,150-353,500 - Surmawala lists Rs 318,150 down from Rs 353,500 (marked sold out), PakWheels shows Rs 340,000. On the federal PAVE portal a "United EV Sharp 1500W" lists at Rs 249,000, roughly Rs 169,000 after the scheme's Rs 80,000 self-finance subsidy.

Then there is the problem this page mostly exists to warn you about. "United Electric Sharp" is not one scooter. United's own website carries two separate pages, both titled Sharp Pro, specifying different batteries, different ranges and different top speeds. A live dealer sells a "United Electric Sharp" in stock at Rs 199,000 with a graphene pack. PAVE lists an "EV Sharp" at a wattage nobody else quotes. The price you are quoted tells you less about this scooter than the label on its battery does.

Note what is missing from that table. Nobody publishes the lithium Sharp's brakes. The only source that publishes brake and tyre-construction detail under the "United Electric Sharp" name is AutoPower - front disc, rear drum, 3.00-10 tubeless - and that is its graphene 70V-32Ah unit, a different machine on a narrower tyre. We have not carried those figures into the table above, because importing them is exactly the mistake this page exists to warn against. Look at the actual brakes on the actual scooter.

One published number does not survive arithmetic: PakWheels lists 85 Nm of torque. A 1000W motor delivering 85 Nm implies a wheel speed of about 112 rpm, which on a 10-inch wheel is roughly 9 km/h - not a figure that coexists with the same table's 55 km/h top speed, where 1000W corresponds to nearer 14 Nm. Read it as a stall or peak figure at most, and do not use it to compare scooters.

Honest assessment

Pros. On the lithium spec, the value is real: 72V 40Ah is about 2.88 kWh, which is a large pack for a scooter in this market and underwrites the 100-110 km claim more credibly than the 60-70 km packs it competes with. PakWheels records the pack as removable, which matters enormously in Pakistan - it means charging in a first-floor flat without running a cable down to the street. 90 kg dry is manageable, and regenerative braking, reverse mode, a stand sensor, an immobilizer, a USB port and an anti-theft alarm are all marked standard on PakWheels' table. Behind it sits United's dealer network, searchable by city for sales, warranty and service - which most scooter brands at this price cannot match.

Cons. The identity problem is the product's biggest defect. Two manufacturer pages disagree with each other; a third URL on the same site serves a different model's specs; and a live retailer sells a graphene-pack machine under the same name for Rs 119,150-154,500 less (Rs 199,000 against the Rs 318,150-353,500 lithium listings; Rs 141,000 against PakWheels' Rs 340,000). A buyer who does not know to check can pay lithium money for a lead-carbon pack, and lead-family packs are the documented failure mode of the Pakistani e-bike market. Beyond that: no tested range figure exists from anyone, no warranty terms appear on United's own site, charging takes 4-7 hours with no fast-charge option, and at Rs 318,150-353,500 the retail price is 28-42% above the PAVE list for a broadly comparable machine.

Who should buy. Someone who wants a large-pack commuter scooter with a removable lithium battery, who will physically inspect the pack label before paying, and who ideally gets it through PAVE. Anyone shopping on price alone should stop and price the graphene version honestly - Rs 199,000 for a lead-carbon scooter is a different value proposition, not a bargain on the same machine.

Pakistan reality check

Check the battery before you check the price. This is the whole buying procedure for this model. Ask to see the pack. Confirm the chemistry word on the label - "lithium" or "graphene"/"lead-carbon". Confirm the voltage and amp-hours: 72V 40Ah, 72V 28Ah and 70V 32Ah are all sold as a United Electric Sharp today. Confirm whether it is removable. Then write all of it on the invoice alongside the model name. A dealer who will not do this is a dealer betting you will not notice.

Replacement economics, since chemistry decides them. Our July 2026 e-bike guide's baseline puts a lead-acid replacement set at roughly Rs 38,000 every 15 months against roughly Rs 90,000 for a lithium pack lasting four years or more. Over four years that is about Rs 121,000 in lead-family replacements against a single Rs 90,000 lithium pack - which is why the Rs 119,150-154,500 price gap between the graphene and lithium Sharps is smaller than it looks, and why the chemistry line on your invoice is worth more than the discount you negotiated.

The scheme gap. PAVE lists a United EV Sharp 1500W at Rs 249,000 - Rs 69,150 to Rs 104,500 below live retail before any subsidy, and about Rs 169,000 after the Rs 80,000 self-finance disbursement. The catch, and it is a real one: the portal quotes 1500W where every retail listing quotes 1000W, and publishes no battery spec at all. We cannot confirm the PAVE EV Sharp is this scooter. It may be a higher-output variant, a differently-packed one, or a scheme-only SKU. Ask the dealer to reconcile the wattage before you assume the two prices describe one machine.

Warranty. United publishes none. PakWheels' spec table lists a 1-year battery warranty; PakWheels' separate EV Bullet report describes United EV warranty as 12-18 months, dealer-dependent. On a scooter where the pack may be worth Rs 90,000 to replace, one year is thin and "dealer-dependent" is not a term at all. Ask specifically whether capacity fade is covered and at what threshold - a pack that still charges but holds 55% is the failure most owners actually hit, and it is the failure most warranties quietly exclude.

Heat and the 10-inch wheel. Both chemistries lose life in 45C ambient; charge indoors or in shade and never immediately after a long ride. And note the format honestly: 10-inch wheels and 120 mm of ground clearance are city-surface equipment. This is a scooter for metalled urban roads, not for the broken edges and speed humps that a 125cc commuter shrugs off.

The comparison that should decide this purchase is the one inside United's own range. At Rs 318,150-353,500 the lithium Sharp costs the same as - or more than - the EV Bullet, which is a full motorcycle chassis with 18-inch wheels, dual disc brakes, a 2000W motor and a 90-100 km/h top speed against the Sharp's 55 km/h. What the Sharp buys for that money is a bigger pack (about 2.88 kWh against the Bullet's 1.8-2.16 kWh), a removable battery, and step-through practicality. If you need the pack size or the removability, it is a defensible choice. If you do not, the Bullet is more machine for the same rupees.

Running cost, with assumptions stated: 2.88 kWh at Rs 60/kWh is about Rs 173 per full charge, or roughly Rs 1.65/km over a 105 km claimed range and about Rs 2.19/km if you derate the range 25% the way the Bullet's measured figure suggests you should. Off-peak at Rs 23.57/unit those become about Rs 0.65 and Rs 0.86/km. A 45 km/l petrol scooter at Rs 275/litre runs about Rs 6.1/km.

Read the battery label, not the name.

Is the Sharp's battery lithium or graphene?

It depends which one you buy, and the manufacturer's own site does not settle it. United's /united-sharp/ page says Lithium 72V 40AH; United's main EV page and its /sharp-pro/ page both say Graphene Chilwee 72V-28Ah; PakWheels says 2.5 kWh lithium with a removable pack; AutoPower's in-stock unit says graphene 70V-32Ah. Graphene here means a lead-carbon chemistry, an enhanced lead-acid relative - not lithium. The distinction is worth roughly Rs 50,000 in replacement cost and several years of pack life.

How far does it actually go?

Nobody publishes a tested figure. Claims run 100-110 km (lithium spec), 100 km (PakWheels, explicitly labelled "Range Test Standard - Claimed"), 95-100 km (AutoPower's graphene unit) and 70-75 km (United's own graphene Sharp Pro spec). For comparison, the one United model that has been independently ridden - the EV Bullet - measured 60-70 km against an 80-90 km claim, a 15-25% shortfall. Apply the same haircut here and plan around 75-85 km on the lithium version.

What does it cost to charge?

Arithmetic with stated assumptions. A 72V 40Ah pack is about 2.88 kWh, so a full charge costs roughly Rs 173 at a Rs 60/kWh residential slab or about Rs 68 at the Rs 23.57/unit off-peak rate. Over a 105 km claimed range that is about Rs 1.65/km on the slab rate or Rs 0.65/km off-peak; derate the range 25% and it is about Rs 2.19/km and Rs 0.86/km. A 45 km/l petrol scooter at Rs 275/litre runs about Rs 6.1/km.
