The kilometre cap and the vehicle (non-battery) warranty term are not published on any source we could verify — third-party listings quote 8 years / 160,000 km and 8 years / 120,000-200,000 km for CSM cars generally, and the UAE-market RD6 gets 4 years / 100,000 km vehicle plus 8 years / 200,000 km battery and motor. Battery replacement cost is unpublished in Pakistan.

What the Riddara RD6 is

The Riddara RD6 is a pure battery-electric (BEV) double-cab pickup from Riddara — the export name for Radar Auto, Geely's electric-utility sub-brand — imported CBU and sold in Pakistan by Capital Smart Motors, a subsidiary of Habib Rafiq Engineering. As of 26 July 2026 it costs Rs 13,299,000 to Rs 16,999,000 ex-factory across three variants, unchanged since the variant-by-variant announcement of October 2025.

Say the powertrain out loud, because Pakistani coverage keeps garbling it: no engine, no fuel tank, no range extender. Riddara does build an RD6 EM-P plug-in hybrid abroad; it is not sold here. Several Pakistani outlets also printed "436 hp, 650 Nm" for the RD6 at launch — those are the BYD Shark 6 PHEV's figures, not this truck's.

That ordering is odd — the cheapest variant is the 4WD one — so the Air reads as a higher-trim 2WD. Get the drivetrain written on your booking form. Ex-factory excludes registration, provincial tax and freight. PakWheels' spec-comparison page also prices the Air at Rs 1.51 crore while its own model page and ProPakistani say Rs 14,699,000; we use the latter.

Battery: distributor and news sources say 86 kWh NMC; PakWheels' database says 73 kWh LFP across all variants and calls this pickup front-wheel drive, so treat it as unreliable. Running cost per kilometre

Basis: 25 kWh per 100 km at the wall — from an independent test of the same 86 kWh 4x4 that returned 350-400 km against a 455 km claim, plus ~10% AC charging loss. A two-tonne-plus pickup with AC fighting 45-degree Punjab heat will not beat it.

Read the last three rows together, because no dealer will show them to you. On public DC charging the RD6 costs about what a BYD Shark 6 costs burning petrol, and only about a quarter less than a diesel Revo. The case for this truck is not "it is electric" — it is "I charge it at home, ideally off my own roof."

The SolarNevs line: self-consumed rooftop solar makes a kilometre cost roughly Rs 0 at the margin. A 585W panel yields about 2.3 kWh/day in Pakistani conditions, covering about 9 km a day here — so 30 km/day needs ~4 panels (2.3 kW), 50 km/day ~6 (3.5 kW), 80 km/day ~9 (5.3 kW), 100 km/day ~11 (6.4 kW), dedicated to the truck on top of household load. The catch, said honestly: a working pickup spends the sunny hours away from the roof meant to charge it.

Honest assessment

Pros. Nothing else in Pakistan does this job on electricity. 3,000 kg towing, a 1,200-litre bed, 815 mm wading, 225 mm clearance and 4.5 seconds to 100 km/h in the 4WD versions is a serious utility package, and the 6 kW vehicle-to-load outlet turns it into a site generator — genuinely useful on a load-shedding feeder.

Cons. A year after the price reveal we found no verifiable Pakistani owner review, delivery report or independent local road test. Local specification data is contradictory to the point of uselessness. The 86 kWh pack is modest for a truck this heavy, so it is hungry on the motorway.

Who should buy it. A business or farm with a fixed base, rooftop solar, a wall box and a 60-120 km daily duty cycle that ends at home every night. If you tow long distances, drive intercity weekly, or cannot charge where you park, buy the diesel.

Pakistan reality check

Real vs claimed range. The 461 km headline is an NEDC figure — the most generous cycle in common use — and the distributor's "WLTP" label flatters it further. Independent testing of the same 86 kWh 4x4 abroad returned 350-400 km, 23-28% below claim; Pakistani owners across brands report roughly 28% below claim on motorways with AC running. Budget 320-350 km mixed, about 300 km on the M2 with a load.

Battery and warranty. CSM advertises an 8-year battery warranty but publishes neither the kilometre cap nor the vehicle (non-battery) term. Third-party listings quote 8 years / 160,000 km for CSM cars generally; the UAE-market RD6 carries 4 years / 100,000 km vehicle plus 8 years / 200,000 km battery and motor. Different documents — only the Pakistani one binds anyone. And nobody in Pakistan publishes what a replacement 86 kWh pack costs. That is the largest unpriced risk in this purchase. Ask for both numbers in writing.

Charging at home after net billing. Since 9 February 2026 new rooftop solar connections are on net billing: exports earn about Rs 11/unit while imports cost Rs 50-plus landed. Exporting surplus has stopped making sense; pushing it into a vehicle battery between roughly 10am and 4pm — self-consumption, not export — is now the best use of a Pakistani rooftop system, and an 86 kWh truck is a large bucket to fill. Connections dated before 9 February 2026 keep their old one-for-one terms.

The charging network is thin, and that is the deciding fact. Arab News reported in January 2026 that Pakistan had just over 20 operational public charging points nationwide against a 3,000-station target for 2030; other reporting counts ~70 licensed sites as of mid-2025. Licences are not energised chargers — the bottlenecks are DISCO connections, separate meters and NOCs. Public DC runs Rs 110-120/unit against a widely ignored Rs 39.70/kWh policy cap, and there is no usable highway DC network for a truck needing 86 kWh. CSM's service footprint is also new and small next to Toyota's or Isuzu's.

Monsoon, flood and load-shedding. Riddara rates the 4WD RD6's high-voltage system to IP67 and the pack to IP68, with 815 mm of claimed wading — better sealed than most vehicles on a flooded Karachi road, and still not a boat. If the truck has stood in water above the sill, do not restart it. Tow it and have it inspected: a restarted submerged EV is a fire risk and will not be a warranty claim. And a 6.6 kW wall box on a load-shedding feeder will not reliably put 86 kWh in overnight — solar plus storage is not optional here.

Resale and state of health. Pakistan has no used-EV price history, no standard battery state-of-health disclosure at resale, and for the RD6 no second-hand transactions at all. Nobody can tell you what a 2026 RD6 is worth in 2031. Buy it to keep through the warranty, not to trade.

The Econ lands between a Revo G and a Revo V; the Pro sits above the Rocco but nearly Rs 3 million below the Shark 6 — a PHEV, not an EV, which will run its whole life on petrol if you never plug it in. Against the diesels the RD6 asks you to trade a 30-year service network, five-minute refuelling and predictable resale for cheap home-charged kilometres and no oil changes. Good trade with a roof, a wall box and a fixed base. Bad trade without. We do not sell cars and take no dealer money.
