Crown Elego-VI-6KW IP21 Hybrid Solar Inverter

The Crown Elego-VI-6KW IP21 is a single-phase 6,000 W hybrid solar inverter on a 48 VDC battery bank, with 7,000 W of PV capacity through one MPPT tracker, built-in Wi-Fi and — unlike the Xavier line — programmable grid-tie with self-consumption and feed-in. Pakistani listings ran Rs 150,000 to Rs 190,000 (verified 2026-07-25), with the two lowest asks both explicitly marked down from higher list prices.


The only Crown here that can feed the grid

Crown's datasheet documents this unit as a programmable grid-tie, hybrid and battery-mode inverter with self-consumption and feed-in to the grid. Neither the Xavier 3KW nor the Xavier II 4KW can export at all — Crown's Xavier datasheet restricts feed-in to its 6KW unit. If you are buying a Crown for a net-billing application, this is the tier where the conversation starts.

One unresolved caveat: Crown's IP65 datasheet lists feed-in windows pre-set to Indian, German and South American regulation profiles — no Pakistan or NEPRA profile — and Crown publishes no equivalent table for the IP21. Whether a Pakistani installer can lawfully configure export under the NEPRA Prosumer Regulations 2026 is unverified; ask your installer to demonstrate the grid-code setting and get the DISCO's position in writing before you pay. {/* VERIFY */}

Honest assessment

What holds up. For a 6 kW single-phase grid-feeding hybrid, the price is the argument: at Rs 150,000–190,000 this undercuts the Inverex Nitrox 6.6kW at Rs 275,000–280,000 (both verified 2026-07-25) by roughly a third to a half. 120 A of charging current from either PV or grid on a 48 V bank is generous, nine-unit parallel capability is real headroom, power factor above 0.99 is properly specified, and Wi-Fi is built in rather than a dongle. At 12 kg it is also a genuinely wall-friendly 6 kW box.

What does not.

1. One MPPT tracker. 7,000 W of PV through a single 27 A tracker with a 120–430 VDC window. No split-orientation roof support at all, and a narrower window than the IP65 sibling's 120–450 VDC.
2. 95% grid-tie, 93% battery mode. Crown's own figures. A widely repeated Pakistani retail claim of 98.3% for this unit has no manufacturer basis and is cut.
3. No RS485. The IP21 lists USB or RS-232 with dry contact only. Closed-loop lithium communication is not available on this variant, and any dealer claiming Pylontech CAN support should be asked to demonstrate it on the unit.
4. One year of comprehensive warranty. The headline is four years; the parts cover is one. See below.
5. Fault 09 is a real-world pattern. Crown classes it as an internal failure needing the repair centre, and dedicated third-party repair content exists for this exact model and code.

Owner feedback: partial, and negative where it exists. No written first-hand Pakistani owner review of installation or a warranty claim on this model could be sourced on 2026-07-25, and none is invented here. The verifiable owner-side signals are the Fault 09 repair content above and monitoring: the Crown Monitor app scored 1.9 out of 5 from 61 ratings on the Pakistan App Store with no release since 01/07/2024, reviewers reporting three-to-five-minute refresh intervals and live graph and grid-feeding data disappearing from the home screen (fetched 2026-07-25).

Who should buy it. A household in one of Crown's five service cities that wants 6 kW of hybrid capacity, a 48 V lithium or lead bank and a low capital cost, and that is comfortable with open-loop battery charging and a one-year parts warranty. Who should not: anyone needing closed-loop BMS communication, anyone with a split-orientation roof, anyone whose purchase depends on a guaranteed NEPRA-compliant export configuration, and anyone who cannot reach a Crown branch easily.

The price picture

Two independent checks on 2026-07-25 reached the same two retail listings, both discount-flagged with scarcity copy, while the wider market — including index sites SolarNevs treats as datapoints rather than authorities — quotes materially higher. Publishing Rs 150,000–155,000 as "the" street price would quote a promotion as the norm, so the published range is Rs 150,000–190,000: pay the low end if a promotion is live, expect Rs 160,000–190,000 otherwise. Snippet figures of Rs 171,000 (w11stop.com, 2 July 2026) and higher numbers from brightsolar.pk and peakpower.pk come from pages that could not be retrieved, and are not used.

Pakistan reality check

Heat. Rated -10 °C to 50 °C, and indoor-rated in retail naming with no IP figure on Crown's datasheet; the IP65 sibling rated -25 °C to 50 °C is the outdoor unit. Crown's fault table lists over-temperature at Fault 02 for an internal component above 100 °C. Mount this one indoors, shaded and ventilated.

Dust. Crown's manuals treat the anti-dust kit as a monthly cleaning item. In Punjab and Sindh that instruction is the difference between a working inverter and an over-temperature fault in July.

Grid instability. AC input from 90–280 VAC with auto-restart at 180 VAC and 40 A maximum input current handles Pakistani supply swings. Crown's own note on Fault 07 applies here too: PV input above specification derates output power, and a load that was previously fine then reads as an overload. Fault 11 or 59 means PV voltage over the limit — with a 500 VDC maximum, the remedy is fewer modules in series. Fault 56 means the battery is not connected properly or a fuse has blown; warning 32 means the control board has lost communication with the com port.

Service and warranty. Six Crown branches across five cities: two in Lahore, one each in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad. The warranty split matters more here than anywhere else in the range — Crown prints 4 years total, 1 year comprehensive, 3 years free service, while retailers advertise a flat five years. After year one you are paying for parts.

Counterfeits and grey stock. No counterfeit Crown reports were found on 2026-07-25. The live risks are the absence of a serial-verification portal, two official-looking Crown websites with different corporate addresses, and OLX listings for a "Crown Hybrid Inverter 6.2kW" at Rs 70,000–85,000 using kW ratings that appear on no Crown datasheet SolarNevs fetched.

Price context

Against Inverex, Crown's case is capital cost and Inverex's is a ten-city service network, a documented dual-MPPT design and a far better-supported monitoring stack. Against Ziewnic, Crown is the more expensive option — the Z5 PV8500 delivers more output for less money, with eighteen published service centres, and its own gaps (no published BMS protocol list either, no IP rating). The Knox Krypton 6kW and Growatt SPH 5kW are the other obvious rivals in this bracket; SolarNevs has not independently verified their July 2026 street prices and does not carry numbers across pages.
