Who is eligible?

Who this applies to. Anyone connecting rooftop solar to DEWA's grid in Dubai. Enrolment is the gateway credential for this market: DEWA's connection process states that applications are made through consultants and contractors enrolled with DEWA, so a firm without it cannot deliver a grid-connected system regardless of what else it offers.

What enrolment certifies. That the firm can lodge Shams Dubai applications and carry a project through DEWA's process. That is all. DEWA's own disclaimer on the same page removes any reading of the list as a quality mark — it will not be responsible for the contractor's advice, designs, workmanship, delays or consequences.

So use the list as a filter, not as a decision. It removes firms that cannot legally do the work. It does not rank the ones that can, and choosing among them is still on you: design competence, equipment from the eligible list, warranty terms and who honours them locally, and whether the savings claim in the proposal survives arithmetic.

The tracker's live finding, and the reason this page exists. DEWA publishes the register as a single downloadable PDF and says it "will be updated regularly". The file on the page on 5 August 2026 is dated 31/07/2025. A register that is over a year old cannot be read as a complete present-day list of enrolled firms, and this page will keep saying so, with dates, until the file changes. If your contractor is absent from it, that is a question to put to DEWA — not a verdict.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Open DEWA's enrolled contractors and consultants page yourself, at dewa.gov.ae. Do not work from a screenshot, a PDF forwarded by a salesperson, or a logo on a website — the file on DEWA's own site is the only version that counts.
  2. Download the current file. It is published as 'List of enrolled electrical and solar PV consultants and contractors', a PDF of about 202 KB. As of 5 August 2026 the file on the page is dated 31/07/2025.
  3. Find your candidate under the exact legal or trading name that will appear on your contract. A parent company being listed does not put a subsidiary on the list, and a trading name that differs from the contracting entity is a question worth asking before signing.
  4. Confirm the same firm will also hold your Operation and Maintenance contract, or name who will. DEWA requires a signed O&M contract as part of the connection process and requires the O&M provider to be an enrolled Electrical & DRRG Solar PV consultant or contractor.
  5. Judge everything else yourself. DEWA disclaims responsibility explicitly, so enrolment tells you a firm can lodge the application — not that its design, workmanship, warranties or savings claims are sound.

Re-checked dewa.gov.ae today. The register is still published only as a downloadable PDF — there is no searchable online lookup — and DEWA's note beside it still reads 'This list will be updated regularly.'

⚠️ The published file is still dated 31/07/2025. That is more than twelve months old against a stated regular-update cadence. Treat absence from a year-old list as a question to ask, not as proof a firm is unenrolled, and ask DEWA directly if it matters to your contract.

My installer is not on the list. Are they a scam?

Not necessarily, and this is where an out-of-date register matters. A firm enrolled after July 2025 would not appear on the current file. Ask the firm for its enrolment reference and confirm it with DEWA before you conclude either way.
