WarrantyGrowatt's standard warranty runs from the installation certificate date and is contingent on the country of sale, installation and after-sales service being the same country. On a AED 6,930 unit that clause is the single most expensive line in the transaction - establish before paying who services it in the UAE, and check the serial number in Growatt's own warranty lookup.

The Growatt WIT 15K-HU is a 15 kW three-phase hybrid inverter, listed in Dubai at AED 6,930 on 5 August 2026, in stock at maxima.solar. It is the largest and the only outdoor-rated inverter on that shelf, and its price per rated kilowatt is nearly double the single-phase hybrid beside it — for reasons the datasheet explains.

What the extra money buys

Against the SPE 12000 ES on the same shelf — AED 3,391 for 12 kW, versus AED 6,930 for 15 kW — this unit is 63% more expensive per rated kilowatt. Four datasheet rows account for most of it:

  • IP66 versus IP20. The SPE is indoor-only. This one is dust-tight and rated against water jets, which in the UAE means it can live on an external wall rather than consuming plant-room space.
  • Three-phase. On a three-phase DEWA supply a large single-phase inverter unbalances the connection; this one does not, and it supports 100% unbalanced output on the load side.
  • 200% overload for 10 seconds. That is the specification that makes a hybrid comfortable starting pool pumps and large AC compressors — the usual reason a villa needs this class rather than simply more kilowatts.
  • 290 A battery current and a generator input. Around 14.8 kW of charge or discharge at 51.2 V, plus a documented 45.4 A generator/AC-couple input for sites already running a diesel set.

The battery-voltage detail that catches people

The rated battery voltage is 51.2 V, window 40–60 V. That is the 16-module-class lithium range: Pylontech's UF5000, at 51.2 V nominal with a 56–56.8 V charge window, sits inside it. Pylontech's older US5000 is a 48 V module and charges to a different voltage — the two must not be mixed in one bank, and Pylontech's own manual says so in as many words. If the quote pairs this inverter with a battery, check which module family is being supplied.

One seller is not a market price. Every figure above is what one Dubai shop listed on 5 August 2026 and enters our dated UAE price index as exactly that. Until a second UAE seller lists the same model there is no spread to show, and the spread is the number that protects a buyer.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Growatt WIT 15K-HU cost in the UAE?

AED 6,930 at maxima.solar on 5 August 2026, in stock. One seller's listed price on one day - not a UAE market rate. It is the most expensive inverter on that shelf and the only outdoor-rated one.

Is the IP66 rating real?

Yes. Growatt's WIT 4-15K-HU datasheet states IP66, and it is the reason this unit costs what it does relative to the SPE hybrid beside it, which is IP20 and indoor-only. IP66 means dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets - a genuine outdoor rating for a UAE wall, though shade and airflow still matter for lifetime.

What is the maximum string current, 20 A or 40 A?

Both, and the distinction is a wiring decision. The datasheet gives 40 A maximum input current per MPP tracker across two strings per tracker, and a 20 A maximum per string. The seller quotes only the 20 A. Size string fusing and cable against the per-string figure and the combiner against the per-tracker one.

Can it run on a generator?

Yes - the datasheet lists a generator/AC-couple input with a maximum input current of 45.4 A for the 15 kW model, and the product's own material describes integrated generator input with smart load control. That makes it a real option for a site or compound where a diesel set is already the backup and the goal is to burn less of it.

What battery does it take?

A 51.2 V nominal pack, with an operating window of 40-60 V, lithium-ion or lead-acid, and up to 290 A of charge or discharge - roughly 14.8 kW. Note the 51.2 V rating: 51.2 V lithium modules such as Pylontech's UF5000 sit in this window, while older 48 V 15-cell modules like the US5000 charge to a different voltage and should not be mixed into the same bank.

Is 15 kW three-phase the right size for a UAE villa?

It is a large-villa or light-commercial machine, and the deciding factor is your DEWA supply rather than your roof. A three-phase connection is a prerequisite; on a single-phase supply this is the wrong product no matter how much roof you have. Its 200% ten-second overload capability is what makes it comfortable with motor starting - pool pumps, large AC compressors - which is usually why a villa needs this class rather than more kilowatts.
