Pylontech US5000 4.8kWh (48V LiFePO4)

The Pylontech US5000 is a 48V, 4.8kWh LiFePO4 rack module - 4.56kWh usable at the datasheet's 95% depth of discharge - and was, until this year, the default premium lithium battery in Pakistani solar installs. We publish no current price for it: as of 2 August 2026 no live, dated Pakistani listing could be opened. BatteryMax's US5000 page - still in Google's index at Rs 255,000-270,000 - returned 404 today; Solar Citizen's Rs 192,000-216,000 was last verified 19 May 2026, well past our 14-day price gate; and W11Stop, which states it is an authorized distributor, stocks no US-series module at all. The last price this site verified was Rs 275,000 on 25 July 2026.

This page exists so buyers who arrive searching for the battery every 2024-25 guide recommended learn what actually happened to it - the Pakistani channel has moved to the 51.2V UF5000 and FIDUS - not so we can sell them a number.

Specifications

The 100A continuous rating matters: a single US5000 can carry a 5kW hybrid inverter's full battery draw on its own, which the smaller US3000C (37A continuous) cannot.

Honest assessment

Pros. The spec sheet is the strongest in the 48V class: 95% usable DoD, 100A continuous on one module, >8,000 rated cycles, and both CAN and RS485 out of the BMS. It is a complete manufacturer product - cells, BMS and enclosure from one factory - and it sits on Pylontech's official compatibility list with named inverter models and firmware versions, which is why installers trust it. The enormous installed base in Pakistan means commissioning knowledge is everywhere.

Cons. The purchase case in Pakistan has collapsed - not because the battery got worse, but because the channel moved. With no authorized stock on 2 August 2026, whatever US5000 you are offered is remnant, grey, or worse; age matters for lithium (calendar aging runs regardless of cycles) and provenance is unverifiable without the serial checks below. Expansion is a dead end: today's channel stock (UF5000, 16-cell, 51.2V) cannot join a US5000 bank. And the price chaos cuts both ways - with published references ranging from Rs 192,000 (stale) to Rs 275,000 (last month), you have no anchor to negotiate against.

Who should buy. Someone completing an existing US5000 bank who finds a unit with a verifiable serial, recent production date, and written warranty - for them, matching stock is worth hunting. A first-time buyer should get the UF5000/FIDUS from the live channel instead (hub page has today's prices), or a rival 5kWh module at a lower price.

Pakistan reality check

Where did it go? W11Stop's Pylontech shelf on 2 August 2026: UF5000, FIDUS, FIDUS Plus, UP2500, Force H3 - no US5000, no US3000C. BatteryMax: UF5000, FIDUS, FIDUS Plus, Force-H3 - US5000 page deleted. The US5000 remains on Pylontech's global datasheet and compatibility list, so this is a channel transition, not a product recall - but for a buyer in Lahore the distinction is academic: the official pipeline visibly no longer feeds this model.

Grey-stock checklist - non-negotiable for this model now. (1) Holographic seal and label serial (format like HPTCR03261A32603); AMS - an authorized dealer - states genuine serials are verifiable on Pylontech's official portal, so ask the seller to demonstrate verification before paying. (2) Have the installer pull the BMS log and confirm the serial in the log matches the label; a mismatch means repacked or refurbished. (3) Check the production date in the log - a "new" module made in 2023 has been calendar-aging in a warehouse for three years. (4) Serial and warranty term written on the invoice, or walk away.

BMS compatibility. Same rules as the whole US series: CAN pairing with Solis S5/S6-EH1P and Deye SUN-SG hybrids is on the official list with activation and force-charge support; Victron needs its own type-A CAN cable (Victron's manual: you cannot use the comms cable supplied by Pylontech; it also caps charge voltage at 52.4V against the battery's requested 53.2V, deliberately). On Voltronic Axpert-family inverters - the platform behind many Pakistani hybrid brands - only VM III and King types communicate over RS485; all others run manual voltage settings. Manual mode is how packs get overvolted, and since October 2025 Pylontech's claim process reads the logs: repeated pack voltage above 54V is attributed to wrong inverter settings and the warranty claim is refused.

Heat. LiFePO4 is the right chemistry for 45C summers, but cycle-life figures are specified at 25C and the BMS throttles charge current as cells heat. Install indoors, ventilated, off the roofline.

Price context vs rivals (August 2026)
