Solis Solar Inverters

Solis is the inverter brand of Ginlong Technologies Co., Ltd. of China, sold in Pakistan by independent importer-distributors rather than by a Solis-owned subsidiary. Across the three Solis SKUs we could price against two or more independently fetched Pakistani retailers on 25 July 2026, the range runs from Rs 200,000-210,000 for the S5-GR3P10K three-phase on-grid string inverter to Rs 295,000-300,000 for the S6-EH1P8K-L-PRO 8kW hybrid.

SolarNevs sells no hardware. Below is what we verified about Solis in Pakistan — and what we could not.

Who actually makes and sells Solis in Pakistan?

Solis is not a rebadge. Unlike several "local" Pakistani brands that are white-labelled Deye units, Solis is Ginlong's own: datasheets, warranty terms, battery pamphlet and after-sales portal all carry "GINLONG TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD." (checked 25 July 2026).

Distribution is murkier. Solis's own website names no Pakistani distributor. Two importer identities are documented in an official government file — FBR Customs (Valuation) meeting notice No. Misc/25/2013-VII, which called a solar-inverter valuation meeting for 02-04-2026 and lists among its invitees "Innovo Corporation, 6, A, Model Town, Lahore" and "Solarbrain Pakistan, Wh-20, Techno City Mall, Altaf Hussain Road, Karachi South." Innovo is corroborated by pv-magazine (4 November 2024), quoting "Muhammad Mujahid, executive director at Lahore-based PV distributor Innovo Corp." Solar Brain's site claims it is "the authorized distributor of Solis inverters across Pakistan" — a self-claim Solis does not confirm.

Multiple parties claim authorised status; no exclusive national distributor could be confirmed. Solis does have a documented Pakistani reference: its own application-notes page carries a 100 kW installation in Gujranwala running Solis-50K on-grid inverters.

Models we have priced

The Pakistani shelf is wider — S6 hybrids at 10, 12 and 16 kW, three-phase hybrids to 50 kW, an on-grid range from S5-GR3P5K to S6-GC3P150K07-NV-ND — but none of those was independently price-verified, so we quote no numbers for them.

Warranty: what is promised, and what the fine print does

Pakistani retailers consistently advertise 5 years standard with an optional paid upgrade to 20 years (w11stop and solargrid.pk both use that wording), consistent with Ginlong's region-dependent 5-10 year Limited Warranty. Three fine-print points matter more:

1. The label must survive. Ginlong's terms state that "The Product label must be completely undamaged and legible and properly attached to the Product", failing which "Ginlong has no obligations under this Limited Warranty." A claim also needs the claim form, invoice and installation report.
2. The battery can void it. Solis's battery-matching pamphlet warns that a non-compatible battery will void the inverter warranty. Pylontech, Dyness and BYD low-voltage packs are on the list; Knox, Livoltek and Osaka Lithium — three of the most commonly offered packs here — are not.
3. Some shops sell a shorter cover. c-power.pk's Solis pages carry "2 years Replaced Warranty" as the shop's own term, alongside the brand's five-year claim with nothing distinguishing them.

Service reality: phone support, not a counter

This is Solis's clearest weakness against a local brand like Inverex, credited with the best service network in the country. Solis publishes no walk-in service-centre address for Pakistan — its after-sales page lists Pakistan with contacts only: +92 042 111119118, +92 334 1171144 (WhatsApp), service@ginlong.com and pakfastservice@solisinverters.com. The 042 prefix is Lahore.

Everything physical routes through whichever importer sold the unit, so we list only Lahore and Karachi as verified service cities. Islamabad and Rawalpindi coverage is distributor marketing, unconfirmed by Solis.

Monitoring and known faults

Monitoring is via SolisCloud: 4.6 stars, 7.74K reviews, 1M+ downloads, updated 22 July 2026 (Google Play Pakistan storefront, fetched 25 July 2026). Commissioning is local, over Bluetooth and the on-unit LCD; cloud monitoring needs the optional Wi-Fi, GPRS or LAN stick, not always included in a quote — ask.

Recurring owner complaints, from Google Play reviews fetched 25 July 2026:

• "For about a month now I am unable to log in my account. The App says 'Net Error'."
• "The data updates after about 3 minutes" in Bluetooth local mode, and "Bluetooth device replies to illegal data address" when editing Storage Mode.

On the hardware side, the alarm Pakistani owners are most likely to meet is OV-G-V (over grid voltage). Solis's own service article documents it as a common alarm frequently caused by the factory grid code not matching the destination market's grid standard rather than by a hardware fault — worth knowing before anyone sells you a replacement board. Installer-reported fault classes (Ausgreen Solar Solutions, 15 December 2023) add firmware glitches, monitoring dropouts, MPPT errors, fan wear and relay failure, naming "E01: Inverter Relay Failure" and "E05: Temperature too High". Counterfeits, grey imports and the mis-selling that is actually happening

We found no Solis-specific counterfeit advisory for Pakistan, and we will not imply one exists. What is documented is a market-wide grey-import problem: Growatt's official statement of 14 August 2024 records "a significant increase in the distribution of unauthorized Growatt inverter products in the Pakistani market" and warns it "does not provide warranty for machines whose provenance cannot be identified."

Solis's exposure is contractual: an undamaged label, invoice and installation certificate are all mandatory, so grey stock is effectively unclaimable. The bigger day-to-day hazard is spec mis-selling and SKU confusion — hybrids advertised with on-grid efficiency figures, one shelf label covering three generations at prices tens of thousands of rupees apart. Buyer defence: full SKU string on the invoice, photograph the serial label before installation, keep the certificate.

Price context

Pricing is not purely dealer-driven: FBR Valuation Ruling No. 2015/2025 under Section 25-A of the Customs Act 1969 sets customs values for solar inverters by capacity and type — a floor under landed cost that no dealer discount stays below for long.

Against rivals: Inverex Nitrox is the volume leader and the service-network answer; Growatt SPH is the closest international hybrid, with the same grey-import warning attached; Knox Krypton is a Pakistani-branded Deye product competing on price and local presence rather than on manufacturer documentation.

Since net metering was abolished in February 2026 — net billing pays roughly Rs 11/unit exported against far higher import tariffs — the economics favour self-consumption and storage, which makes the hybrid line rather than the on-grid string line the relevant Solis product for most homes.
