The Ora 03 is a five-seat battery-electric (BEV) hatchback built by Great Wall Motor in China and sold in Pakistan by Sazgar Engineering Works as a CBU import. As of 26 July 2026 it lists at Rs 8,999,000 ex-factory for the single 400-Pro variant — the figure PakWheels has carried since 10 November 2025, so the "introductory price" everyone expected to rise has not risen.
It is a pure EV: no petrol engine, no fuel tank, no range extender, no self-charging mode. If you cannot plug it in, it does not move.
Variants and price
Pakistan gets exactly one trim. PakWheels, Gari.pk and GadiDrive all list a single entry.

Several Pakistani sites claim a second trim at "Rs 9,999,000" with a "63 kWh long-range battery and 420 km". We could not corroborate that on any dealer or listing source and believe it is an error copied between sites. Do not budget for a variant that does not exist. {/* VERIFY */}

Note the 105 kW figure. The European Ora 03 uses a stronger 126 kW / 250 Nm motor and does 0-100 in 8.3 seconds. Those numbers do not apply to the car sold here, though Pakistani coverage mixes the two constantly.
Running cost per kilometre
We work from roughly 21 kWh per 100 km at the wall — about 19 kWh/100 km at the battery in Pakistani heat with the AC on, plus 10% charging loss. Independent testing of this pack recorded 14.9 kWh/100 km in town and 18.5 on country roads; Pakistan's temperatures push that up, not down.
Formula: cost per km = (21 / 100) x tariff.

Petrol comparison at Rs 331.52/litre (24 July 2026): an equivalent 1.5-litre automatic crossover at 12 km/L in the city costs Rs 27.63/km; at 14 km/L mixed, Rs 23.68/km.
Home charging saves roughly Rs 23,000 a month against petrol at 1,200 km. But the Rs 3.5M gap between this and a comparable Rs 5.5M petrol crossover takes over twelve years of fuel savings to close. You do not buy this car to save money. You buy it because you want an EV.
The widely-quoted "Rs 39.70/kWh cap" on public charging is a regulated pre-tax ceiling; retail DC billing runs far higher. Budget for the Rs 110-120 row. {/* VERIFY */}
The solar answer
Charging from your own rooftop in daylight is ~Rs 0/km marginal — the panels are paid for and the sun is free. At 585W panels producing roughly 2.3 kWh/day in Pakistani conditions:

Honest assessment
Pros. Genuinely nice to sit in for the money — panoramic roof, 10.25-inch screen, wireless charging, six airbags and a full ADAS suite most Rs 9M petrol cars here do not offer. LFP chemistry is thermally stable and tolerates daily 100% charging, which NMC packs do not. Quiet and easy to drive.
Cons. The 228-litre boot is small for the footprint. Reviewers consistently report motorway running is where it suffers: range and efficiency drop markedly, wind and road noise are intrusive, and the driver aids intervene more than most people want. It is a CBU import, so panels and parts come by sea. And the two things buyers most want to know — warranty and battery replacement cost — are unpublished.
Who should buy it. Someone in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad with a house, rooftop solar, a second car for intercity trips and a commute under 80 km a day. Anyone who regularly drives Lahore-Islamabad, lives in a flat without a charge point, or needs one car to do everything should not.
The Pakistan reality
Real range vs claimed. The "400" in 400-Pro is an NEDC number — the oldest and most optimistic lab cycle. The same pack is rated 310 km on WLTP, closer to reality. Pakistani owners report roughly 28% below claimed on highways at speed with AC running; applied to the WLTP figure that gives 215-230 km on a motorway and 250-260 km in mixed city use. Plan trips on 220 km, not 400.
Battery replacement and warranty. The number one anxiety, and we cannot resolve it. **Sazgar has not published Ora 03 warranty terms for Pakistan in any source we could verify — not vehicle cover, not battery cover, not a state-of-health threshold. The UK car gets 5 years vehicle and 8 years / 100,000 miles battery cover, but **there is no basis for assuming those terms transfer here. Replacement cost for the 47.78 kWh pack is also unpublished. Get the booklet in writing and confirm who honours it if Sazgar drops the franchise.
Charging at home after net billing. NEPRA replaced net metering with net billing in February 2026. Exported solar now earns roughly Rs 11/unit against import rates above Rs 40, so exporting to sell is dead economics. Self-consuming your own generation is now the highest-value use of a rooftop system, and an EV on a timer between 10am and 4pm is close to the perfect load. Size the array for daytime charging, not export. Prosumers who signed before 9 February 2026 are grandfathered.
Charging network. NEECA has licensed on the order of seventy sites nationally, but the number of genuinely public, energised DC points you can rely on is a small fraction of that — roughly twenty-odd countrywide. {/* VERIFY */} Coverage is Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad; intercity corridors are thin, and load-shedding takes your home charger offline unpredictably. Treat public charging as a bonus, not a plan.
Monsoon and flooding. EV packs are sealed to IP67 in most markets and are generally safer in standing water than an ICE air intake, but we could not confirm the IP rating for the Pakistan-spec car. {/* VERIFY */} The rule that matters is absolute: if the vehicle has been submerged, do not restart it or plug it in. Recover it on a flatbed and have it inspected. Urban flooding makes this a live risk each August.
Resale. No meaningful used-EV market exists here yet, no standard battery state-of-health report at resale, and no way for a buyer to verify pack condition independently. Assume resale is opaque and that you take a discount for it.

The Atto 3 is the direct problem: within Rs 9,000 on price, larger, bigger battery, far denser service network. The MG4 EV Urban undercuts both by two million rupees. The Ora 03 wins on cabin design and equipment; it does not win on space, network or peace of mind.

Nobody has published a Pakistan battery replacement price, and warranty terms are not public either. This is the single biggest unknown on this car. Demand written terms from Sazgar before buying.
Can I charge it from rooftop solar?
Yes, and after the February 2026 net-billing switch it is the best use of a rooftop system. About 4 panels of 585W cover 40 km/day of driving.
