Deye SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU 12kW Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter

The Deye SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU is the three-phase 12kW low-voltage hybrid at the top of the SG04 family - 18kW of PV input on two MPPTs, a 40-60V battery port good for 240A in either direction, IP65, generator charging and up to ten units in parallel. Pakistani pages call it the country's best-selling hybrid. None of them will tell you what it costs, and neither will we.

That is not caution, it is the finding. Beyond Green Solar publishes a page titled "Deye 12kW Hybrid Inverter Price in Pakistan 2026" that renders no price and routes to a contact form. Pakistan Solar Traders calls the SUN-12K "Pakistan's #1 selling hybrid inverter in 2025" and offers a WhatsApp quote. Every actual retailer we searched on 2 August 2026 - W11Stop, Kamal Solar, Solarshop, Solar Trade, SunSolar - returns zero results for "deye", and Daraz returns "Search No Result". The only numbers in circulation, Rs 3.2-4.2 lakh, come from an aggregator that labels them undated "2026 market estimates" and sells nothing. One estimate from a non-seller is not a market price.

Specifications

A conflict we are not smoothing over. A European reseller page for the same model string, opened the same day, gives 15,600W maximum PV input, 550V maximum PV input voltage, 422 x 699 x 279 mm and 45 kg. Those are not Deye's published figures. We print Deye's and name the disagreement, because a Pakistani quote citing 15.6kW of PV headroom against a 38kg cabinet is quoting two different documents at once.

Honest assessment

Pros. Within its class this is a serious machine: 240A of battery current is roughly 11.5kW at 48V nominal, so the pack can actually sustain the 12kW output rather than becoming the bottleneck - the reason this model suits load-shifting and commercial peak-shaving, not just backup. 18kW of PV against 12kW of AC is a 1.5x oversize allowance that suits Pakistani irradiance and soiling losses. It stays low-voltage on the battery side, so it pairs with the 48V LiFePO4 racks the market stocks instead of demanding a high-voltage stack nobody here sells. Ten-unit parallel, generator charging, IP65 and 45C-onset derating are all right for the application.

Cons. It is three-phase, which most Pakistani domestic connections are not, so the addressable buyer is narrower than the enthusiasm around it suggests. There is no Pakistani channel, no published price, no named distributor and no local service counter - the warranty is 5 years from installation but capped at 5.5 years from Deye's factory, requires a serial number, and is conditioned on a formal Deye sales contract that no Pakistani seller has been shown to hold. Reseller spec sheets for this model contradict Deye's own. And it is exactly the class of internet-connected unit Deye disabled outside authorised channels in November 2024.

Who should buy. A commercial or agricultural site with a genuine three-phase connection, an installer who has commissioned this platform before, and a written answer to two questions: who honours the warranty, and is the unit geo-locked. Without both answers in writing, buy a three-phase hybrid that has a Pakistani importer behind it instead - Solis publishes a three-phase range with documented Pakistani importers, and Inverex has the country's service network.

Pakistan reality check

Two pages titled "price", zero prices. This is the cleanest evidence of what Deye is in Pakistan: dedicated, search-optimised Pakistani pages targeting the exact query "Deye 12kW price in Pakistan", which resolve to a contact form and a WhatsApp button. Demand is real and the product is real; the retail channel is not. Every quote for this model in Pakistan is therefore a negotiation with an importer's private stock, and there is no second listing anywhere to check it against.

Customs puts a floor under it, and the ruling has a clause most summaries miss. FBR Valuation Ruling No. 2015/2025 (25 July 2025) assesses hybrid inverters above 8kW and up to 12kW at US$85/kW C&F in Category A and US$51/kW in Category B, and Note 1's named tier-1 list reads "Huawei, Inverex, Goodwe, Growatt, Solis, Sungrow, Fronius, Solax, Sineng, ABB, SMA and others" - without Deye. The obvious inference, that a Deye-badged unit therefore clears in the cheaper column, is wrong. The same Note 1 continues that if other brands import IP65 or IP66 hybrid inverters, the Category A values apply to those goods too, and the SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU is IP65. So this unit should be assessed at US$85/kW - a minimum benchmark of US$1,020 C&F for 12kW before duty, taxes, freight and margin. Deye's absence from the named list tells you about official brand recognition, not about a customs discount. We do not convert either figure to rupees, because a customs floor dressed as a retail price would be exactly the kind of number this page exists to avoid.

BMS compatibility - the strongest reason to want this platform. Deye's Approved Battery List DY-LV48-0121, issued 25 February 2026, names SUN-5/6/8/10/12K-SG04LP3-EU on its first page and lists roughly 120 approved packs with the interface and lithium-mode setup number for each. Over CAN at setup 00 that includes Pylontech's whole 48V range - US2000B/US3000/US2000C/US3000C/US2000D/US3000D/UP5000/US5000/UF5000/Force L1/L2/Pelio-L - which covers both the US-series stock leaving Pakistan's channel and the UF5000 that replaced it. Also cleared: Dyness B4850/A48100, Narada 48NPFC80/100/150/200, BYD Battery-Box LV5.0, Fox ESS LD-48100P, Livoltek BLF48100/BLF51-5, Alpha ESS M4856-P, Soluna 4K/5K. The narrower RS485 path at setup 12 covers Pylontech's US series and UP5000 but not the UF5000. Missing entirely: Knox, Osaka Lithium, Fronus, Vaults and Dongjin. Deye's own footnote is the operative warning - "The purchaser should confirm with the battery supplier if the battery is compatible with Deye inverter, or Deye will not be liable for any failure that caused by communication issue." At 240A of battery current, a pack that cannot hold a BMS conversation is not a minor inconvenience.

Three-phase before anything else. A 12kW three-phase hybrid needs a three-phase connection and a sanctioned load to match. Verify the meter and the sanctioned load on the bill before discussing the inverter; a three-phase unit on a single-phase service is a returned inverter, and the return path here runs to Ningbo.

The remote off-switch, and the monitoring trade. Monitoring is over WiFi/RS485/CAN with a SOLARMAN logger - the same path the November 2024 lock travelled. On a commercial installation, going offline to dodge that risk also means losing remote diagnostics and firmware updates on a machine that may be running a business's load. There is no clean answer; there is only knowing which trade you made.

Fault codes. Deye-style F01 to F64, the same family as the single-phase units. F08 (GFDI relay failure), F24 (DC insulation impedance failure) and F63 (arc fault) mean stop, not reset - see our inverter error-code glossary.

Price context vs rivals (August 2026)

No Deye figure exists to compare, so this is what the 8-12kW hybrid class actually costs a Pakistani buyer. Individual live listings read on 2 August 2026 - single sellers, not market rates.
