Growatt Solar Inverters

Growatt (Shenzhen Growatt New Energy) is a Chinese string-inverter manufacturer whose Pakistani presence is almost the opposite of its reputation here. As of 2 August 2026, live Pakistani listings run Rs 170,000-575,000 across the residential and light-commercial range, rising to Rs 1,115,000 for a 125kW commercial unit - and the volume products behind those numbers are three-phase on-grid inverters, not the off-grid boxes the brand is famous for in load-shedding Pakistan.

That is the finding that reorganises this page. Every Pakistani Growatt guide of 2025-26, including our own C3 price guide, is written around the SPF 5000 ES off-grid inverter. On 2 August 2026 we could not open a single live Pakistani listing for the SPF 5000 ES at any price. The one Growatt off-grid unit we found on a live shelf was the SPF6000 ES at Rs 175,000, at exactly one seller - so we publish no price for the off-grid line at all.

Two things to notice. The 10kW three-phase on-grid inverter - Growatt's Pakistani bread and butter - sells for Rs 170,000 to Rs 199,000 depending on which shop you walk into and which suffix is on the box: a 17% same-day spread. And the hybrid side costs far more per kilowatt than the on-grid side, because Rs 215,000 buys either a 5kW SPH hybrid or a 15kW on-grid string inverter. If your roof is net-metered and you do not need battery backup, the on-grid line is where Growatt is actually competitive.

Honest assessment

Pros. Growatt's documentation is good and all of it is public: revision-dated datasheets on the manufacturer's own site, a serial-number warranty lookup any buyer can run on the shop floor, and a Distributor Certificate Checker that tests a dealer's "authorized" claim before payment. Almost no other inverter brand sold in Pakistan hands a buyer those two tools. The three-phase on-grid line backs it with real numbers: 98.6% peak efficiency, IP66, Type II surge protection on both AC and DC sides, string-fault monitoring, optional AFCI, and a 14kg body one person can hang.

Cons. The Pakistani channel is incoherent. On one day, four sellers quoted four prices for the 10kW on-grid unit and at least three listed it under model numbers that do not match what they describe - the specifics are on the MOD 10KTL3-X page. Advertised warranty runs 2, 5 or 10 years depending on the shop. And the SPF off-grid line Pakistani buyers actually search for has largely vanished from live listings while every price guide still quotes it.

Who should buy. Net-metered rooftop owners buying a three-phase on-grid inverter, who will run the serial through Growatt's warranty lookup and the seller through the certificate checker before paying. Buyers wanting a 5kW battery hybrid should price the SPH5000 against the same shop's Solis and Knox stock first. Anyone who specifically needs an off-grid SPF should confirm the exact model is physically in stock before paying a deposit.

Pakistan reality check

The warranty clause that decides everything. Growatt's official warranty page states that coverage is contingent on the country of sale, the country of installation and the after-sales service being aligned, and that Growatt covers freight only back to the original selling country or region. Read plainly, that means a unit imported cheaply through a route that does not end in a Pakistani seller of record is a unit you may not be able to claim on. The same page runs a serial-number lookup that returns the model, shipping date and warranty period - or tells you it has no record of that serial. That check costs nothing and takes thirty seconds. Do it before payment, not after a fault.

Who actually is Growatt in Pakistan. On 2 August 2026 we could not open a single Growatt-published page naming a Pakistani service centre; Growatt's own contact URL returned 404 and its regional support site would not serve us a readable page. What exists instead is claimants. growattpk.com trades as "Growatt-PK" and lists a Karachi office above Meezan Bank at Regal Chowk, Saddar, and a Lahore presence on Main Hall Road - but its own contact page makes no authorized-distributor or authorized-service-centre claim. AMS Security Vision states on its own site that it is Growatt's authorized distributor, with offices in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, and quotes a 5-year Growatt warranty. Both are claims a party makes about itself; we have verified the claims are made, not that they are true. Do not guess - put the dealer's certificate number into Growatt's Distributor Certificate Checker.

Advertised warranty is a mess, and the range is 5x. C-Power attaches its own "2 years replaced warranty". AMS advertises 5 years, matching Growatt's factory standard. Sunsolar advertises 10 years on the SPH 10000TL-HU and Subhan Electronics prints "Warranty in Years: 10" on the MOD 10KTL3-X. Growatt's own rule is that the 10-year term is an extension applied for within two years of installation - not something that becomes true because a shop typed it into a spec table. Ask which one you are buying, and get it on the invoice.

Error codes: two different systems under one badge. The SPF off-grid line is Voltronic-derived and throws two-digit numeric codes - the 04 / 08 / 11 / 20 / 58 family documented in our Growatt error-code guide. The grid-tied MOD, MID and SPH units do not use that scheme; they raise Growatt's own numbered errors through the display and ShinePhone. If your inverter is an SPH or a MOD, an SPF code table sends you down the wrong diagnostic path. The 450V string-voltage ceiling quoted for 5kW Growatt off-grid units likewise does not apply to the SPH5000, whose maximum PV input is 550V.

Battery pairing, and the setting that kills these systems. Only the SPH (and MOD-XH) take batteries, and the SPH BL-UP window is 42-59V - 48V packs, not high-voltage. Pylontech's official compatibility list Ver 2.40 lists "Growatt SPH 3000 - 6000" as CAN-compatible on firmware RA1.0, and separately carries footnote c: "When compatible with Growatt SPF/M series correponding type, according to inverter logic, the depth of discharge(DoD) of battery shall be set to 80% or lower. Otherwise may lead to system shut down and need of manually recharge battery." In the document that footnote is attached to the SPF and M/LVM rows, not to the SPH row - we are not going to pretend otherwise. It matters for the SPH anyway because Growatt's own older SPH5000 datasheet independently prints 80% DoD for lithium and 50% for lead-acid. Heat and dust. MOD three-phase units are IP66 with natural convection and a +60C ceiling; the SPH hybrids are IP65. Both are legitimately outdoor-rated, unusual at this price - but "rated to 60C" is an ambient limit, not permission to bolt the unit to a west-facing wall in Multan. Shade it, leave 30cm clearance, brush the fins monthly.

Price context vs rivals (August 2026)

Same store, same day, the whole 10kW on-grid shelf - W11Stop, 2 August 2026, every priced listing its own search returns:

Growatt sits upper-middle, not mid-shelf: Rs 188,000 is 14% above the cheapest 10kW on-grid unit in the same shop - the Knox G2 at Rs 165,000, itself an IP66 three-phase box quoting 98.4% - and the MOD 10KTL3-X2 at Rs 193,000 is 17% above it. Against the dearest, the Inverex Nitrox three-phase at Rs 262,500, Growatt is 26-28% cheaper. So the honest summary is that four listings on this shelf undercut Growatt and three sit above it. What the extra Rs 23,000 over the Knox buys is the published revision-dated datasheet, the serial-number warranty lookup and the distributor checker - documentation, not watts.

The hybrid shelf is a harder sell. Same store, same day:

At Rs 235,000 the SPH5000 is the dearest 5kW-class hybrid on that shelf, and Rs 5,000 more than a Solis 6kW LV - a full kilowatt bigger. The counter-argument is the serial-checkable warranty and the published datasheet, which the budget brands on that list do not offer. Whether that is worth a kilowatt is your call; make it knowing the trade.

One dated figure we will not repeat: AMS's price index puts 5kW Growatt SPH units at Rs 130,000-155,000 - but that index is dated June 2026 and covers the three-phase SPH TL3-BH high-voltage variant, not the single-phase SPH5000 BL-UP selling at Rs 215,000-235,000 today. Different model, stale date. It is not a cheaper price for the same box.
