The KStar 3 kW single-phase on-grid inverter is listed in Dubai at AED 1,495 on 5 August 2026, in stock at maxima.solar. It is the only one of that seller's four KSTAR inverters that was actually available that day.
We publish no specification table for it, and the reason is the point of this page.
The listing cannot be used as a source
Two failures, both checkable:
It contradicts itself on the IP rating. The quick-spec block says IP66. The description says IP65. KSTAR's own documentation — including its KSG series announcement — says IP65.
Its description is about someone else's inverter. The "Smart Monitoring Options" paragraph on the listing reads: "The Fronius Symo stands out as one of the most communicative inverters on the market, thanks to its internet connectivity via WLAN or Ethernet…" That is Fronius marketing copy for a three-phase Austrian inverter. Everything in that passage — the connectivity claims, the dual-MPPT framing — belongs to a different product from a different manufacturer.
When a listing's own text has been pasted in from a competitor's datasheet, no number on it can be carried forward, including the ones that happen to be right.
Two candidate models, 100 V apart
KSTAR publishes two generations in this class, and the UAE listing names neither:

The KSG-3K-SM figures above are read off KSTAR's own datasheet for the KSG 1~3K SM series. They are correct for that model. They are not safe to apply to a box whose nameplate you have not read.
There is no KSG-3K-DM, incidentally: KSTAR's dual-MPPT single-phase series starts at 3.2 kW. Any "3KDM" part number in a quote does not match KSTAR's published range.
What this does to your string design
Maximum DC voltage is not a footnote — it decides string length, and open-circuit voltage rises as temperature falls. Take the 585W Osda module on the same shelf, 51.16 V Voc:
- against a 500 V ceiling: nine modules per string, with margin for a cold morning
- against a 600 V ceiling: eleven
Design for eleven, install a 500 V inverter, and the array over-voltages its inverter the first cool January dawn after commissioning. The failure is not immediate or obvious, which is what makes it expensive.
What to do
- Photograph the nameplate before the installer wires the unit in, and keep the photograph.
- Get the datasheet for that exact model number, not for "KSTAR 3kW".
- Size the string against the maximum DC voltage on that datasheet.
- Get the warranty term and the UAE servicing party in writing — the listing states neither, and an inverter is the component most likely to need service inside ten years.
One seller is not a market price. AED 1,495 is what one Dubai shop listed on one day; it enters our dated UAE price index as exactly that, and no spread can be published for this unit until a second UAE seller lists it.

Photograph the nameplate before installation and get the datasheet for the number printed on it.
Why does the maximum PV voltage matter so much?
It sets how many panels can go in one string. KSTAR's KSG-3K-SM datasheet caps DC input at 500 V; the BluE-G page says up to 600 V. A string designed for 600 V and connected to a 500 V unit exceeds its rating on the first cold morning of the year, when open-circuit voltage is highest. With the 585W Osda panels on the same shelf at 51.16 V Voc each, that is the difference between nine modules per string and eleven.
Is it IP65 or IP66?
IP65, per KSTAR's own documentation and its KSG series announcement. The seller's page states IP66 in its quick specs and IP65 in its description - it contradicts itself, and the manufacturer settles it. IP65 is still a genuine outdoor rating, but on a UAE wall shade and airflow matter more than the ingress figure.
Does it have two MPPTs?
The KSG-3K-SM has one MPPT and one string per tracker. The listing's description claims otherwise, but that description is copied from a Fronius Symo datasheet and is not about this product at all. One MPPT means one roof orientation per inverter - if your array is split across two faces, this is the wrong unit.
Is 3kW big enough for a UAE villa?
Rarely for a whole villa - a UAE household running air conditioning through summer typically needs far more. A 3 kW single-phase string inverter fits an apartment, a small townhouse array, or a partial offset. Size the inverter from the intended array and the DEWA connection, not from a headline price.
