Tesla Electric Cars

Tesla, Inc. is the American battery-electric vehicle maker behind the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. As of 26 July 2026 there is no Tesla ex-factory price in Pakistan, because Tesla does not sell cars in Pakistan — no importer, no distributor, no dealer, no service centre, and no announced entry plan. Every Tesla on a Pakistani number plate arrived as a grey import.

Every Tesla is a BEV. Battery only. No petrol engine, no hybrid mode, no range extender. Tesla has never built a hybrid or plug-in hybrid of any kind, so any listing describing a "Tesla hybrid" is wrong on its face and tells you something about the seller.

There is no Tesla price in Pakistan — only asking prices

This is the single most misreported fact about Tesla in Pakistan. Several local price aggregators publish tables headed "Tesla car price in Pakistan" showing figures like Rs 10,970,920 for a Model 3 or Rs 13,242,920 for a Model Y. Read the small print on those pages: they are international list prices converted to rupees without shipping, duty or taxes. They are not Pakistani prices, they are not achievable, and they are not quotes from anyone who can sell you a car.

What does exist is a thin second-hand listing market. On 26 July 2026 PakWheels shows the following, and labels every one of them "*Used Car Price":

Model

Observed PK asking range (used listings)

Dated

Model 3

Rs 1.05 - 1.37 crore

26 Jul 2026

Model Y

Rs 3.00 - 3.50 crore

26 Jul 2026

Model S

up to Rs 4.10 crore

26 Jul 2026

Model X

listed, no verified band

26 Jul 2026 {/* VERIFY */}

Autodost separately reports Model 3 grey-import listings at Rs 1.25-1.65 crore, which overlaps but does not match. {/* VERIFY */} Both figures come from a handful of cars. These are asking prices from a sample too small to call a market, and the roughly threefold gap between the Model 3 and Model Y bands is far more likely to be a sampling artefact than a real price relationship. Do not use either number to value a car you are being offered.

The rule that decides everything: right-hand drive

Pakistan admits right-hand-drive vehicles only. This is not a preference or a taxable option; LHD cars are not importable under the personal baggage, gift or transfer-of-residence schemes at all.

Tesla builds RHD Model 3 and Model Y, mostly out of Giga Shanghai for the UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Tesla ended right-hand-drive Model S and Model X production in May 2023; those cars are left-hand drive only in current production. So of the current Tesla range, exactly two models are RHD cars, and any Model S, Model X or Cybertruck offered to you is either a pre-2023 RHD survivor or an LHD car that should not be registrable here. That tension between the listings and the rule is unresolved in every source we could find — get the drive side and the registrability confirmed in writing by Customs and your provincial Excise office before any money moves. {/* VERIFY */}

"Tesla Industries" is not Tesla

Pakistan has a locally registered new-energy-vehicle importer called Tesla Industries, which brings in XPENG, AION and GuGo models. It has no relationship with Tesla, Inc. of Austin, Texas. Salespeople do not always volunteer this, and the name does a lot of work in a WhatsApp conversation. If someone tells you "Tesla is now in Pakistan," ask which Tesla.

What you actually give up

  • Warranty. Tesla's factory warranty is honoured at Tesla service centres. There are none in Pakistan. A car with residual cover from the UK or Japan has cover you cannot claim without shipping the car back.
  • Parts. No authorised parts channel exists. A damaged pack, a failed drive unit, or a cracked rear casting means an international order, an unknown lead time, and a workshop improvising.
  • Superchargers. Zero in Pakistan. Supercharging is the single largest practical advantage of owning a Tesla anywhere else, and here it is simply absent.
  • Software and connectivity. Over-the-air updates, navigation routing and Premium Connectivity depend on a supported market. Whether they function normally on a Pakistani SIM and address is not something we could verify. {/* VERIFY */}
  • Insurance. Insuring a non-standard import with no local parts price list is a negotiation, not a form. Get the sum insured, the battery-damage position and the total-loss basis in writing before you buy, not after.
  • Resale. There is no established used-EV market here, no battery state-of-health disclosure standard, and for Tesla specifically no local service history to inspect. Your exit price is a guess.

Our position

We do not sell cars and we take no dealer money, so we will say it plainly: for almost every Pakistani buyer, importing a Tesla is the wrong decision. You are paying a large premium to own an orphan — a technically excellent car with no warranty you can claim, no parts you can order, no charger built for it, and no workshop trained on it.

The money is better spent on an EV that someone in Pakistan is contractually obliged to fix. On 26 July 2026, BYD's officially imported range runs from the Atto 3 at Rs 8,990,000 to the Seal at Rs 14,790,000-16,990,000 and the Sealion 7 at Rs 15,490,000 — all with a local distributor, a service network and a phone number that answers.

If you have read all of that and still want to do it, our Tesla grey-import guide sets out the duty structure, the running-cost arithmetic and the specific things to get in writing.
