Growatt THOR 07AS-S/P 7kW AC EV Charger

The Growatt THOR 07AS is a 7kW, 32A single-phase Type 2 wallbox - socket (S) or 5m tethered cable (P) - whose selling point is a PV Linkage mode that charges the car on surplus rooftop solar, from the same manufacturer as one of the most widely-sold solar inverter brands in Pakistan. We publish no price for it: as of 2 August 2026 no live Pakistani listing exists on any channel we could open - W11Stop (which sells Growatt inverters), EV Chargers Pakistan, OLX, Daraz, Solarshop and Hajvery Solar all return nothing.

This page exists because the search traffic exists - "Growatt EV charger Pakistan" is the natural question for anyone with a Growatt hybrid on the wall and an EV booking in hand - and because the honest answer is: the charger is real, the specs below are official, and the Pakistani channel for it is not there yet.

Honest assessment

Pros. The feature set is precisely what a Pakistani solar-plus-EV household needs: PV Linkage charges the car on power that would otherwise export at a poor buyback rate, the off-peak scheduler maps onto the Rs 34.53/kWh domestic ToU window, and load balancing throttles the car when the ACs kick in - directly useful on thin sanctioned loads. The built-in 6mA DC fault detection saves buying an external Type B RCD - a real line item on installs where the wallbox lacks it. OCPP 1.6 means no vendor lock-in, and IP65 in a 7kg box makes for an easy wall install.

Cons. It is unbuyable in Pakistan through any documented channel, which cascades into everything else: self-import logistics, customs duty on top of a ~Rs 187,000 equivalent sticker, zero local warranty, no installer who has commissioned one, and a support path that runs through a foreign seller. There is no LCD - if Growatt's app or your WiFi misbehaves, the box tells you nothing beyond an LED bar. PV Linkage needs its CT/metering wired correctly by an electrician who has never seen one. And the +50°C ceiling with natural cooling leaves no documented headroom for a badly-sited wall in a Sindh summer.

Who should buy. A committed Growatt-ecosystem owner who imports with open eyes, keeps the invoice trail, and values single-app solar-EV integration above a warranty. For everyone else, Rs 100,000-285,000 buys a 7kW-class charger that exists in Pakistan today - see the price table below.

Pakistan reality check

No channel, verified. The full check is documented on the Growatt chargers hub: W11Stop's EV shelf is RNR and Tesla EVX; EV Chargers Pakistan returns "Nothing Found" for Growatt; OLX has zero listings; the solar shops stock inverters, not chargers. Growatt's own Pakistani launch event on 27 July 2026 was about hybrid inverters - no THOR on the agenda. Any dealer claiming stock should show the import paperwork.

If you import one anyway. Buy the S (socket) variant - a damaged tethered cable on the P means opening the unit, while the S takes any replacement Type 2 cable (Rs 45,000-55,000 locally at W11Stop). Insist on the EU/global firmware with OCPP enabled, not a region-locked build. Budget the full landed math: sticker, freight, duty and sales tax at clearing, plus an electrician for the dedicated 40A circuit, earthing and CT install (Rs 20,000-50,000 installation is the going range for wallboxes here). And accept, in writing to yourself, that the warranty is a courier ride to another continent.

The meter comes first. 32A continuous on a single phase is beyond most domestic sanctioned loads (2-5kW). Load extension puts you on per-kW fixed charges - Rs 675/kW/month on the ToU band per IESCO - forever. Connector fit. Type 2 matches every officially-sold EV in Pakistan (BYD, MG, Deepal class). Grey-import Japanese cars need Type 1 and Chinese-market GB/T cars need an adapter - if that is your car, this is the wrong page.
