Review Timelines for Level 1 Interconnection

Completeness Review

After receiving your interconnection request, the utility has a limited time to check if all required documents are present. "Within seven business days after receipt of the interconnection request, the utility shall inform the applicant whether the interconnection request is complete."

Technical Evaluation

Once the utility confirms your application is complete, they proceed with a technical review. "Within 15 business days after the utility notifies the applicant that its interconnection request is complete, the utility shall determine whether the distributed generation facility meets the criteria" for Level 1 interconnection.

Interconnection Agreement and Witness Testing

If your facility passes the Level 1 review, the utility will provide an interconnection agreement. "Within three business days after determining that the interconnection passes the Level 1 review, the utility shall provide the Level 1 Distributed Generation Interconnection Agreement." You then have "30 business days after receipt of the Level 1 Distributed Generation Interconnection Agreement" to sign and return it to the utility.

Before final operation, a witness test may be required. If so, "The applicant shall provide the utility with at least five business days' advance written notice of the witness test."
